I’ve been struggling to keep up with photographing and uploading my busy students’ creations, but here’s a few recent ones to tide you over!
Ana’s first dress, perfectly accessorised too!!
Emma’s first attempt at a pattern – pretty impressive.
Lisa’s “cowboy” themed cushion cover – the 2nd thing she’s made since learning how to use the sewing machine!
And said cushion in situ.
Nikki’s perfect beach bag. Project number 2 after learning to use the machine.
Rose’s baby dungarees with gorgeous African print fabric that have prompted a request from son number 2 for a pair in his size!
Suzy’s first project after only a few hours learning to use the sewing machine – a lined skirt and she’s already halfway through skirt number 2!!
I will be having a stand (number E13) with MIY Collection at the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at Kensington Olympia on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th March.
I love how the theme for this year’s show is “Make It Yourself” MIY, how apt!!
Tickets are £12.50 if booked in advance or £15 on the door and the show will be open each day from 10am-5.30pm. Click on the image above to go straight to the Twisted Thread (organisers) website and information on the location and how to get there.
I will have my patterns and tools for sale and I’ve got a few other things up my sleeve…….
My sewing tools feature in the “Shopping” section of the March issue of Sewing World magazine which is out now!
One lucky reader will receive a set in the magazine’s giveaway, if you’d like your own they’re available at MIY Workshop or online at my Etsy shop – just use the link in the column on the right of your screen.
A few words in a motivational tone for the New Year over at www.wendyward.wordpress.com
I’m lucky enough to have lots of very dedicated students who keep coming back for more and more classes. I think some people get “addicted” to sewing and want to keep learning and gain more confidence before going it alone, for some a class is the only way to make time for sewing and some definitely find some nice new like-minded friends at their sewing classes.
Whatever your reason, if you know you’d like to come to more than just the standard block of 4 of my Weekly Sewing & Dressmaking classes I’ve introduced some longer term options………..
3 MONTH MEMBERSHIP £130
* 12 classes.
* 3 months to use the classes.
* This is a saving of £20 (when compared to booking 3 blocks of 4 classes at £150).
6 MONTH MEMBERSHIP £250
* 24 classes.
* 6 months to use the classes.
* This is a saving of £50 (when compared to booking 6 blocks of 4 classes at £300).
Memberships must be paid for in full before attending your first class.
